The West's Dealing with Russia

Psychologically Very Unwise!

June 6, 2026

International politics is subject to the same fundamental rules of logical argumentation as legal life in proper democracies!

At least every criminal judge primarily asks this one question:

What preceded this crime?

The way Western politicians, military leaders, and media dealt with the world's largest nuclear-armed state, Russia, was and is legally and psychologically utterly foolish!

This includes a personal and email conversation with a high-ranking former NATO general, Hans-Lothar Domroese, the former "Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum," following his presentation in a Munich café:

The NATO general responded to our suggestion that one should deal with a powerful nuclear-armed state much more intelligently than the West has been doing since 1991...

"Thank you very much - also for your comments in Munich.

Even if that is the case, the question/challenge remains: do I let myself be (fearfully) deterred - or not? The Russians have been threatening for a year with Above all,

to prevent us/the West from

helping Ukraine.

But we cannot accept that.

At least I cannot.

Best regards, HLD"

Our reply:

"Deterrence is one of the correct means of preventing wars.

But is it sufficient? One must ask a far more intelligent question: how did the conflict with Moscow develop after 1990? Especially since a world-renowned Russian, this likeable Mikhail Gorbachev, sensationally paved the way for cooperation between the West and Russia between 1990 and 1991?

Therefore, our question: Wouldn't the far better way have been to cooperate with Gorbachev

to build a strong bloc with Russia against the resurgent Red China?

In that case, the Ukraine problem would never have arisen!

greetings jb koeppl"

The former NATO general remained silent.

A German media manager, Professor Moritz Hunzinger, from Frankfurt am Main with a professorship in Kyiv—who claims to have been friends with one of Ukraine's former presidents and is now in close contact with Zelenskyy and top NATO generals—even wrote us variations of this macabre "standard formula" for months starting in 2022:

"PUTIN, THE DWARV... RUSSIA: MUST BE DESTROYED!"

But what might his descendants say—if there are any left?

Our answer:

"The Ukraine War – the nuclear war – was avoidable! The ultimate burden of guilt – unique in world history – was and is borne by Western Europe and the USA. The great, positive historical achievements of the Russians for the world were not even remotely acknowledged. Russia was invaded twice by the West, by France and Germany! In 1962, Nikita Khrushchev and the Kennedys prevented nuclear war! In 1991, Gorbachev's concession by dissolving the Warsaw Pact was completely ignored. Boris Yeltsin continued Gorbachev's policies – not least with the help of his deputy, Anatoly Chubais. President Obama then further inflamed the situation by claiming that Russia was merely a provincial power.

Vladimir Putin should therefore have been treated much more wisely."

Wikipedia states that Anatoly Chubais even wanted to introduce democracy in Russia together with other Russian politicians. More information can be found here:

Around the turn of the millennium, NATO expert J.B. Koeppl met Chubais' daughter.

Koeppl briefly introduced the daughter to the improvements of Western democracies, but soon lost contact with her.
