A US researcher has an amusing and highly provocative theory about this…

Is there a lack of focus on what's essential, especially today?
Is there a lack of concrete pain that directly results from the foolish decisions of citizens and their politicians?
Because those who make the wrong decisions,
are not the direct recipients of the suffering.
What happens in Tehran doesn't particularly bother the fat, unintelligent German citizen.
That was apparently different thousands of years ago:
