Yet the Western-friendly, good-natured Mikhail Gorbachev had made the greatest concessions to the West beginning in 1990 through the destruction of the Soviet Union, and his successor, Boris Yeltsin, continued this path! Obama and Joe Biden, as a "thank you for the Russians' concessions," have further stoked Russian hatred: In 2014, the former even described Russia, a nuclear power, as a provincial power. Biden stoked Ukrainian hatred against Russia at the Maidan in Kyiv in 2014 – which then responded by invading Ukraine in 2022.
Wouldn't the far better way have been to show the Russians and the world that, given that the Red Chinese are lurking for the disintegration of the West, the US and NATO will not interfere in the hyper-sensitive area of "former Warsaw Pact states / Russia"?

Henry Kissinger died at the age of 100.
What contact did we have with him?
In 1980, Dr. J.B. Koeppl spoke at Kissinger's Institute on K Street, Washington DC, at the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The discussion was on the topic of "Savings in NATO Armaments Policy through Management Efficiency." As the keynote speaker, Koeppl pointed to the massive corruption within NATO among NATO companies due to the incompetence of NATO defense ministries.
Those present did not like this at all.
In 1993, Kissinger was invited to give a lecture at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. His topic was:
"The beginning of a great millennium."
JB Koeppl, sitting up on the stage next to Kissinger in the tightly packed hall, pointed out that Kissinger did not want this millennium at all.
Long, violent commotion in the hall.
